Delivering our nutritious meals to our clients is among the most priceless volunteer jobs at Grandma’s Soup. You get to meet and experience face-to-face the incredible strength and endurance that our clients possess.
We will begin delivering meals in July, 2012. Meals are delivered three days a week. Drivers pick up the meals specified for their delivery route. Each client receives two deliveries a week. A weekly schedule is given to each delivery driver based on their availability. Your delivery schedule can be weekly, every other week, once a month or fill-in when needed. We ask that you block out a 1-3 hour window for your desired delivery schedule.
Meal Prep & Cooking
Everybody loves to be in Grandma’s kitchen. You don’t have to be a chef to help out in the kitchen. Do you have a passion for food, can you cut veggies? Better yet, can you organize meals and label containers. There is more to working in the kitchen than just cooking. We need all hands on deck…Chefs too! We will have two to three volunteers in the kitchen helping to get things ready for prep or delivery. If you have a passion for cooking, or you are super organized, this is the kitchen for you. Bring your passion and enthusiasm and a willingness to dedicate at least 2 hours and join us in Grandma’s kitchen.
Client Relations Liaison
If you have a passion for people, experience in nutrition, counseling, hospice training or personal experience with life-threatening illness and you enjoy being on the frontlines, our Client Relations Liaison is the volunteer job for you. The Client Relations Liaison coordinates client needs, meal delivery and pick-up for our clients. This volunteer position requires 2 hours of our time based on your availability. You are the first step on their healthy journey.
Our volunteers are the spice that makes the sauce just right. This position coordinates and organizes the individuals who agree to volunteer. Based on the availability of our volunteers, you will create schedules based on the needs of Grandma’s Soup, its clients. We ask that you agree to a 2-3 hour block of time based on your availability.
Grandma’s Soup sponsors various events and community conversations around the dinner table. Our goal is to get the word out that food is medicine…healthy bodies, one meal at a time. We are always in need people who are available to assist at these events with set up, promoting Grandma’s Soup, conversation and of course clean up. If you enjoy working the room and interacting with people, this might be the right job for you.
